Meet The Team
Dr. Kinabo is a Senior Geophysicist based in Houston, Texas USA.  He has over 15 years of combined academic and oil & gas industry experience. He has spent over 8.5 years with Chevron Corporation as a Senior Geophysicist and a Project Manager in seismic acquisition, velocity modeling, seismic processing, Quantitative Interpretation (QI), seismic modeling and Potential field (Gravity and Magnetics) projects. He has hands-on experience in exploration, field development, and reservoir management settings in some of the major petroleum basins in the world including Deepwater Gulf of Mexico in the USA, Brazil, Bangladesh, Angola, Norway, and Australia.

Dr. Kinabo also has extensive hands-on experience in environmental and engineering geophysics including application of electrical methods, resistivity, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to characterize the shallow subsurface.

Dr. Kinabo has a PhD in Geology and Geophysics from Missouri University of Science and Technology, a Master's degree in Geology from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Geology from the University of Dar es salaam. Dr. Kinabo is an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicist (SEG), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Geological Society of America (GSA) and National Association of Black Geoscientists (NABG).

Dr. Fonyuy is a senior industry professional geoscientist with academic and professional training in Geology and Geophysics. He has 3+ years academic experience as an Assistant Lecturer of Geology at the University of Dschang, Cameroon and 7+ years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry working as a Geophysicist/Geologist and project leader. He worked for Schlumberger Technology Corporation in Houston, Texas as a Borehole Seismic Geophysicist, executing land and marine exploration and development projects in complex geological environments in major oil and gas producing basins of the World including Gulf of Mexico (deep water/ subsalt), Alaska, North Slope, US land (unconventional shale gas), Offshore Brazil (subsalt), Offshore Africa (Angola & Mozambique), Caspian Sea (Offshore Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) and Kurdistan region-Iraq.

Dr. Fonyuy has hands-on technical and project management experience successfully completing several advanced vertical seismic profiles (VSP) projects for oil and gas operating companies.  He has also worked for Schlumberger as a Field Engineer, acquiring open hole Wire line data and performing quality control on borehole data for clients around the world. He has experience in borehole geological imaging and data interpretation. In addition to his extensive practical technical and exploration skills, Dr. Fonyuy also has experience with capacity building of early career professional Petrotechnical experts instructing various fundamental and specialty seismic modules in Schlumbergers Reservoir characterization schools.

Dr. Fonyuy earned a PhD in Geology and Geophysics from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He also earned a MS in Applied Geophysics and a BS in Geology, both from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Dr. Fonyuy is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicist (SEG) and the Geophysical Society of Houston.
Dr. Atekwana is a Regents Professor, Sun Company Chair Professor and Head of the Boone Pickens School of Geology at Oklahoma State University, USA. In 2016, Professor Atekwana received the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Outstanding Educator Award. Professor Atekwana has more than twenty five years of international experience in capacity building across several sub-Saharan countries. She has extensive experience in geophysical data acquisition (gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity, seismic) and has conducted large scale studies across the East African Rift System and done fieldwork in Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Turkey, Ethiopia, Botswana, Egypt, and Zambia.

Dr. Atekwana is the winner of several best paper awards, international education award and published more than 100 geological articles in top ranked geosciences journals and presented more than 150 papers at international conferences. She has also given keynote addresses and served as invited speaker at many international conferences in China, Canada, US, Europe and Africa. She serves on many science boards in the US and holds leadership roles and is active in several leading professional societies including the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers, Geological Society of America, Geochemical Society, American Geophysical Union, Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society, and National Association of Black Geoscientists.

Professor Atekwana obtained her PhD in Geophysics from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also holds BS and MS degrees from Howard University Washington DC. She enjoys reading and travelling.
